Most popular mobile phones of Nokia

During 20 year activity hundred of mobile phones were produced by Nokia. Some of the mobile phones were very popular and some weren’t. In this review you can read about most popular Nokia mobile phone models.

One of the first telephone sets of Nokia was Nokia Mobira Senator. It’s weight was 15 kg, so it’s difficult to call it “mobile”.

In 1986 Nokia put on the market Mobira Talkman, which also was bulky although this model was smaller then previous model.

Nokia Mobira Cityman (1987) became most successful of first phones. It was really first mobile device of Finnish company production.

Close to 2000 Nokia began to produce mobile phones of different mobile system standarts, such as GSM, CDMA, TDMA, DAMPS, Japan Digital. Some of them were very interesting decisions, for example, Nokia 9000 Communicator (1996). It was first mobile communicator in the world, which had broadened functionality. Some Finnish mobile phones even were appeared in films, for example, in well-known “Matrix”.

Nevertheless, close to 2000 mobile phones were still prohibitive for a lot of people. Mobile phone market needed in the budget decisions. In that conditions most popular Nokia mobile phone model - Nokia 3310 – appeared.

Till now Nokia 3310 is considered most sold mobile phone.

TOP sales of Nokia mobile phones are Nokia 3230, 3250, 5300, 6101, 6131, 6233, 6270, 6288, 7360, 7370, 7373, N 72, N 73, N 76, N 95. At present the world sales of Nokia are 70% of all mobile phone sales.

Finnish company Nokia is leading world producer of mobile devices. Following the history of Nokia you can see it’s path from the paper industry to global telecommunications leader.

The begining of beginings

Finnish company Nokia was founded in 1865. The name of the company arised from the river Nokia on the bank of which the first company office was situated. First the company produced cellulose and paper. In 1871 Nokia Corporation company already enveloped paper market of North-Western Europe and Russia because of it’s successful marketing activity.

In 1917 Nokia company consolidated with such companies as Finnish Rubber Works and Finnish Cable Works, after that it began to produce electric cables and other rubber production.

In 1967 Nokia Corporation company joined with Finnish Rubber Works and Finnish Cable Works and it was realigned into Nokia Group. Nokia Group began to aim it’s activity to semi-conductor devices.

In 1981 Nokia Group purchased the Finnish Telecommunications Company and from that moment Nokia holding of telecommunication market was started. In 1982 the first European digital exchange was built up.

The primary strategy of Nokia was the rapid widening in all directions, come to light future trends appointed the resolute activities of Nokia. In 1981 the cellular system was built up, which was named Nordic Mobile Telephony (NMT) holding Sweden and Finland. The functioning of that network was based on Nokia technologies. From that moment the rapid development of the mobile phones industry started.

In view of the integration of European markets the need of common mobile communication digital standart, which after was named GSM (Global System for Mobile Communications). Nokia with other two Finnish telecommunication operators cooperated to regulate the functining of first GSM system.

In a short Nokia achieved a world success, because of it’s ability of tactful approach to market change and momentary catering for newest developments and technologies.

At present the company produces different production, such as cellular phones, smartphones and communicator, it’s accessories, telecommunication equipment for mobile system operators.
